Sha'ath: Armenia supports Palestinian state

June 22, 2011 4:19 P.M. (Updated: June 23, 2011 12:58 P.M.)
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Armenia will be supportive to the Palestinian people’s demands of freedom, independence and statehood, says Nabil Sha’ath, member of Fatah central committee.

In a statement following a three-day visit to Armenia where he met with the Caucasian country’s minister of defense Edward Nalbandian and other officials, Sha’ath said he discussed the Palestinian plan to gain UN support for statehood.

During the official visit to Yerevan, Sha’ath and his delegation visited the union of Armenian women and the memorial statue of Armenian genocide. He asserted he felt obvious support in Yerevan to the Palestinians’ cause at both official and popular levels.
