NABLUS (Ma’an) -- A Palestinian worker suffered injuries Thursday after being stabbed in northern Israel, officials and relatives said.

Ruslan Daoud, 37, was stabbed several times in the chest and back on his way out of a store in Netanya, his brother said.

Ghaleb Daoud told Ma'an that Ruslan was transferred to an Israeli hospital where his wounds were described as moderate.

The victim was working in construction and held an Israeli permit, Ghaleb explained.

Israel Radio said the incident occurred on Trumpeldor street in Netanya, The Jerusalem Post reported.

The attacker fled the scene, according to the radio report.
