HEBRON (Ma’an) --Samir Al-Qadi, elected Palestinian legislator with the Hamas bloc, was taken from his home during a military raid on Thursday morning.

The official, who had been detained and kept under administrative detention without charge from 2006-2009, was taken from his home in the village of Surif, northwest of Hebron in the southern West Bank.

An Israeli military spokesman said he was unable to comment on the nature of the detention, but said Al-Qadi was taken for questioning.

He is the sixth Palestinian political figure to have been detained by Israeli forces over the last month. None have been charged.

Fatah leader in Qalqiliya Muhammad Walwil, and his brother, were detained Tuesday at 3 a.m.

On May 5, Fatah leader and unity proponent Hussam Khader was detained and has been remanded to administrative detention with an expected term of six months. A court will decide on the term on Sunday, though Khader remains uncharged.

Hamas leader Adnan Abu Tabanah was one of three detained in Hebron by Israeli forces on May 12, one week after elected Hamas leader

Issa Khairy Aj-Ja’bari was taken from his home in Hebron's Namra neighborhood.

On May 3 Palestinian Legislative Council member Ali Romanin was taken from his home north of Jericho.
