Demanding an end to Israel's occupation of Palestinian lands captured in the June war of 1967, an estimated 300 gathered at Israel's Qalandiya checkpoint to demand freedom and access to their lands.

Israeli forces used tear-gas, sound bombs, rubber-coated bullets and stink spray against the demonstrators, injuring 120 according to a count by the Palestinian Red Crescent.

June 5 is the day Palestinians commemorate the Naksa, "the setback" in English, when Israeli forces wrested control of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Syrian Golan Heights from Jordan, Egypt and Syria respectively. Tens of thousands of Palestinians were displaced in the fighting, and more than 20,000 from Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Palestine were killed.
