UNRWA: We will continue to serve refugees

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Despite financial challenges, UNRWA will continue to provide services for Palestinian refugees, the agency said Sunday.

A spokesman for the UN Relief and Works Agency, which serves 4.8 million Palestinian refugees across the region, said there would be no reduction in services despite difficulties secure financial resources.

Local popular committees had said the agency was reducing its services due to the Israeli government's refusal to hand over Palestinian tax revenue.

An UNRWA official dismissed the claims, adding that it was disappointing that the agency had to waste time responding to false accusations.
