Unsafe gas cylinders destroyed in Ramallah

Jan. 3, 2011 9:02 P.M. (Updated: Jan. 3, 2011 9:02 P.M.)
RAMALLAH (Ma’an) -- The civil defense department said Monday that officers destroyed around 60 unsafe gas cylinders in Ramallah.

Working with customs police and the public safety commission, the department said it would continue to monitor equipment to ensure it meets government standards.

The cylinders were intended for distribution in residents' homes but were at risk of leaking, the department said.
