PFLP wing: 4 shells fired at army posts

Jan. 1, 2011 6:00 P.M. (Updated: Jan. 2, 2011 12:45 P.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for shelling two Israeli military posts close to the Gaza border on Saturday.

In a statement, the Abu Ali Mustafa brigades said fighters fired four mortar shells at Sofa and Kisufim military installations.

The group added that it would "cling to the option of resistance and confront the Israeli occupation."

An Israeli military spokeswoman was not aware of any attacks on military posts, but said one shell landed in the Sdot Negev regional council, causing no injuries.
