JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- An elevator technician was crushed to death on Tuesday while doing maintenance work in a building in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Kafr Aqab, a Palestinian Authority police report read.

Muhammad Al-Qadi, 27, from Jerusalem, was working between the internal part of the building's elevator when the accident occurred, police said.

Civil defense crews were called to the scene to evacuate the body, which was transferred to the Palestine Medical Compound in Ramallah.

Officers from the nearby Ar-Ram station and the general prosecutor also arrived to begin investigations, the report added.
