Medic: Israeli forces open fire, injure Gaza fisherman

Gaza – Ma'an – A Palestinian fisherman sustained a gunshot wound to the hand after Israeli forces opened fire at fishing boats on Wednesday along the Rafah coast south of Gaza, a medical official said.

Muawiya Hassanein, director of ambulance and emergency services in Gaza, said Israeli naval forces opened fire at a number of Palestinian fishing boats along the Rafah coast, with the one injury reported.

An Israeli military spokesman said the army was not familiar with the incident after an initial inquiry.
