Police: Hebron woman strangled 16-year-old daughter to death

Hebron – Ma’an – A woman has been arrested for allegedly strangling her 16-year-old daughter to death with a scarf in the West Bank city of Hebron, police said Thursday.

According to police, the woman strangled the teenager in her bedroom on Wednesday night. After investigating the crime scene and questioning relatives, the suspect was arrested, seven hours after the crime took place, a statement from the Hebron police department said.

Ashraf Mash’al, the chief prosecutor in Hebron, opened an investigation after a medical examiner conducted an autopsy on Wednesday and concluded that the death was likely the result of murder.
