Gaza - Ma'an - Fatah's Al-Aqsa Brigades claimed that a group of its fighters detonated a roadside bomb near an Israeli patrol in the northern Gaza Strip city of Beit Hanoun on Friday night, according to a statement received by Ma'an.

The group said in the statement that the fighters who carried out the attack had returned unharmed. They asserted that the operation came in retaliation "for ongoing Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people."

A militant group associated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) claimed responsibility for an attack on an Israeli target Saturday morning, according to a statement received by Ma'an.
