14 Palestinians seized by Israeli forces in West Bank raids

Bethlehem - Ma'an - Israeli forces seized as many as 14 Palestinians during overnight raids throughout the West Bank on Wednesday.

The Israeli military reported that it arrested 14 people in Bethlehem, Qalqiliya, Ramallah and Hebron and transferred them for interrogation.

Eight people were taken in one such raid in Al-Fawwar Refugee Camp, south of the city of Hebron.

Local sources told Ma'an that Israeli troops raided the camp at dawn and searched a number of houses. The detainees have not yet been identified.

Some 20 people were arrested in the camp during a similar raid on Tueday.

Meanwhile Israeli forces detained three young men and assaulted a fourth in Balata Refugee Camp on the outskirts of the city of Nablus.

Local sources told Ma'an that Israeli forces raided the camp at dawn and stormed a number of houses. They detained 38-year-old Hussam Al-Assi, 23-year-old Tha'er Talha and 24-year-old Mohammad Mashah.

Israeli soldiers beat 24-year-old Ahmad Tayyim with their rifles after stopping him on his way to work. Tayyim was hospitalized with what were described as moderate injuries.
