Poll: Israeli incursions meant to topple PA

July 18, 2008 3:20 P.M. (Updated: July 18, 2008 3:20 P.M.)
Bethlehem - Ma'an - Voters in a Ma'an pole believe that a plan to topple the Palestinian Authority (PA) is the reason for the continued Israeli incursions into the West Bank.

Over the past week, 16338 voted in the poll hosted by the Ma'an Arabic site approx. 39% of these believed that the primary reason for the invasions was the bringing down of the PA. 36% of voters believed that they were to undermine the position of Salam Fayyad, the prime minister of the caretaker government. 21% of the participants believed that the incursions are a proof of the failings of the PA to enforce security measures.

The remaining 3% said that they did not know the reason or that they believed they were for a reason not listed as an option.
