Israeli forces raid journalist's home near Jenin

Jenin - Ma'an - Israeli forces raided the home of Palestinian Journalist 'Aasim Jaradat, in the West Bank town of Silat Al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, on Wednesday, witnesses said.

Israeli forces besieged Jaradat's home and his father's home at 3am, witnesses said. Jaradat told journalists that Israeli soldiers called the residents of both houses through loudspeakers and ordered them into the street. When the soldiers discovered that Jaradat was not present, they damaged the interiors of both houses.

Jaradat added that the soldiers interrogated and assaulted his older brother Fayiz in an attempt to locate him.

Jaradat is the director of a local Islamic Jihad-affiliated radio station called "Voice of Jerusalem."
