Fatah spokesperson: Israel is determined to wage war against the peace process

March 13, 2008 3:54 P.M. (Updated: March 13, 2008 3:54 P.M.)
Qalqilia - Ma'an - Fatah spokesperson Nayef Ishtewi condemned on Thursday the killings of five Palestinian activists by undercover Israeli forces in the West Bank cities of Bethlehem and Tulkarem on Wednesday.

Ishtewi noted that the Israeli operation took place on the eve of a potential ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which would have been the result of talks between Palestinian and Egyptian officials in Egypt.

The spokesperson also said that Israel is determined to wage war against the peace process, and is effectively undermining the international community's efforts to push for a just and comprehensive peace agreement.
