Two Al-Quds Brigades members killed in Israeli airstrike

Gaza - Ma'an - Two members of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, were killed and several others were injured in an Israeli airstrike, during clashes east of Al-Maghazi refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip at dawn on Friday.

The Al-Quds Brigades reported that Ayman Sa'id and Bassam Al-Hazin, both 20-years-old, were killed after the aircraft fired at least one missile towards them during their confrontation with an Israeli Special Forces unit.

Medical sources said that the dead and injured were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The condition of wo of the injured is reported to be serious.

An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed an air assault had been carried out.

Meanwhile, Israeli gunboats fired more than 15 shells at open areas in the north of the Gaza Strip. No injuries were reported.

According to Agence France Presse, Friday's attack brings to 6,151 the number of people killed since the start of the second Palestinian uprising in 2000, the vast majority of them Palestinians.
