FBI investigated whether Trump secretly worked for Russia

WASHINGTON (Ma'an) -- After United States President Donald Trump fired FBI director, James B. Comey, law enforcement officials began investigating whether he had been “working for of Russia against US interests,” according to The New York Times news outlet.

The New York Times cited unnamed former law enforcement officials and others familiar with the investigation.

The inquiry forced counterintelligence investigators to consider whether the Trump’s own actions constituted a potential threat to national security and sought to determine whether Trump was knowingly working for Russia or had been unintentionally influenced by Moscow.
