Israeli settlers assault Palestinian family near Hebron City

Nov. 18, 2018 1:22 P.M. (Updated: Nov. 18, 2018 1:23 P.M.)
HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli settlers assaulted a Palestinian farmer along with his family, on Saturday, while they were picking olives in their land, east of Hebron City, in the southern occupied West Bank.

According to local sources, Israeli settlers from a nearby illegal Israeli settlement assaulted the Palestinian farmer, Rashed al-Tamini, along with his family by hurling rocks at them.

Sources confirmed that al-Tamini’s children were present during the assault.

No injuries were reported.
Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.

According to a report by the Israeli rights group B'Tselem, "Settler violence and vandalism takes place with full backing by the Israeli authorities. Sometimes soldiers take part in the assault; at other times, they stand idly by. The police makes no substantial effort to investigate the incidents, nor takes measures to prevent them or stop them in real time."
