Israel expands fishing zone in Gaza

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The Israeli navy allowed Palestinian fishermen, on Thursday, to conduct their work within six nautical miles off the northern coast of the besieged Gaza Strip.

Head of the Fishermen Union in Gaza, Nizar Ayyash, confirmed that the Israeli navy allowed Palestinian fishermen to carry out their fishing work within six nautical miles in northern Gaza and nine nautical miles in southern Gaza.

It is noteworthy that on Wednesday a Palestinian fisherman, identified as Nawwaf al-Attar, 20, from Beit Lahiya, was shot and killed by Israeli naval forces while working off the coast of northern Gaza.
