PLC member among 11 detained by Israeli forces

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 11 Palestinians, including a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), across the occupied West Bank, on predawn Wednesday.

Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) confirmed that Israeli forces detained a member of the PLC, Muhammad Abu Jhesheh, in the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Salah Ibrahim Salah, 28.

In the northern West Bank district of Jenin, two former Palestinian prisoners were detained by Israeli forces and identified as Ahmad Balal Abu Bakr and Ahmad Tareq Abu Bakr.

In the northern West Bank district of Qalqiliya, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian. He was identified as Ahmad Saber Radwan, 23.

In the northern West Bank district of Nablus, two Palestinians were detained. PPS identified them as Muhammad Anis Ashqar, 17, and Sharaf Jamil Abu Asab, 28.

In the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, four Palestinians were detained. They were identified as former prisoner, Alaa Yousef Sharbawi, 35, Muhammad Mahmoud al-Azab, 30, Muntaser Yousef Ode, 30, and Walid Suleiman Naawla, 55, who is the father of Ashraf Naawla, 23, who carried out a shooting attack in the Barkan industrial area, in which two Israeli settlers died and another sustained serious injuries.

Israeli military raids into Palestinian cities, towns, and refugee camps are a near daily occurrence.
