BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The Israeli authorities released four Palestinian prisoners, from the southern occupied West Bank district of Bethlehem, after they ended their 11-month sentences each.

The four, Wael Khalil Atallah, 36, Khalid Ali al-Masri, 30, Murad Moussa al-Khmour, 23, from the Dheisheh refugee camp and Fadi Atiq, 14, from Bethlehem City were jailed and sentenced for participating in "resisting occupation" and belonging to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP.)

The PFLP organized a welcoming ceremony for the four former prisoners that began with a vehicles march from the streets of Beit Sahour and Bethlehem cities reaching the Dheisheh refugee camp.

Palestinian flags were waved alongside flags of the PFLP, pictures of the four and signs condemning Israeli violations against prisoners.

According to Palestinian prisoners rights group Addameer, as of September, there are 5781 Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons.
