Israeli forces demolish Palestinian structures in Jericho

RAMALLAH- (Ma’an)-- Israeli forces Thursday demolished residential structures in the al-Moarajat area in the northern part of the occupied West Bank district of Jericho on Thursday, according to Palestinian officials. 

Israeli bulldozers, escorted by Israeli bulldozers, reportedly demolished two residential mobile homes, two offices, two kitchens, a bathroom, residential barracks, and three water tanks owned by Ali Suliman Mlehat. 

Israeli forces also demolished a residential barrack owned by Muhammad Ali Mlehat. 

Jericho Governor Majid Alfatyani said that the demolitions were part of the "unjustified and violent policies of Israeli forces," adding that the demolitions illustrated Israel's disregard for peace and international law. 

An Israeli army spokesperson was not immediately available for comment. 

According to UN documentation, 684 Palestinian structures have been demolished by Israeli forces since the start of 2016, while 990 Palestinians have been made homeless as a direct result of Israel's demolition campaigns.
