GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- A young Palestinian farmer was injured Saturday when Israeli forces opened fire on him in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, medics said.

He was shot while working on his land and taken to Ash-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, a medical spokesman said.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said forces fired warning shots at a group of Palestinians approaching the security fence. She was not aware of any injuries.
